I joined Southern Utah Ladies Society three years ago – mostly to meet new people, but also to help out in my community. Most of my childhood was spent in Minnesota, my early adult years in northern Idaho, and my later adult years are being spent here in southern Utah. My husband, Jerry, and I made our first move to southern Utah from Lewiston Idaho in 2006. While in Lewiston, I was the Office Manager for Coldwell Banker and then the Event Coordinator for the Lewiston Chamber of Commerce. After moving to Ivins I went to work at SkyWest in Aircraft Maintenance. We moved to Santa Clara during Covid and I retired after 14 years of working at SkyWest headquarters.  Retirement was when I decided to volunteer more of my time and energy to worthy causes (besides I was bored staying home). I’ve been a volunteer at Tuacahn Amphitheater for 15 years, and now I work part time with transportation. I’m also working part time for UT Tech events And I love to travel! Especially back to Lewiston to see my kids and grandkids. I have two children, four grandsons, and a bonus granddaughter. Working on the Southern Utah Ladies Society Board of Directors is a welcome new way to achieve my goal to give back to my community.

My name is Kathy Herder, and I moved to the St. George area in 2017 from Fisher, Indiana. What began as a new chapter quickly became home. I have been blessed to build wonderful friendships here and to live close to family in Lehi, Utah. I am the proud mother of four children, grandmother to 18 grandchildren, and great-grandmother to 17 great-grandchildren - my family is truly the greatest joy of my life. I am retired from a fulfilling career in Medical Management, where I managed physician offices and hospitals. That experience shaped my love for organization, leadership, and caring for people in meaningful, practical ways- skills I continue to use in my community involvement today. I value time spent with family and friends and love staying active and social. Some of my favorite activities include golfing, dancing, reading, playing cards and board games, and hosting gatherings that bring people together. Creating warm, welcoming spaces where people feel connected is something I truly enjoy. As a child, I experienced poverty and was helped by organizations such as the Salvation Army. That support left a lasting impact on my life. Joining the Southern Utah Ladies Society has given me the opportunity to give back in a deeply personal way and to help others who may be facing challenges similar to those I once experienced. Serving others and strengthening our community is what drives my passion. I am honored to be part of an organization that offers hope, compassion, and support and I am grateful for the chance to help make a difference.

I grew up in the Bay Area of California. I started working part time at Sears while in college. Ended up staying with Sears for 38 years. Most of my time at Sears was in several management positions. My husband of 45 years, and I retired in 2005 and moved to St George. We have three daughters, ten grandchildren and the seventh great grandchild due this spring. Since retiring I have been involved in several non-profit organizations. But I really have enjoyed my time with SULS. What I like most is that we will help any non-profit organization. From large organizations such as Intermountain Hospital to a small animal rescue that is just starting. I try to golf twice a week and I am in two bowling leagues. In my spare time I enjoy sewing and reading. My husband and I love to travel. We were in Italy this last fall and are planning a cruise to Iceland this summer. I am truly honored to be part of the Board for the Southern Utah Ladies Society.

I am Loretta Bryant and have lived in St George with my husband and fur baby for almost 4 years. I retired from public education after almost 34 years of serving the farming community of California's Central Valley. I have worked almost all facets of education working my way up from paraprofessional to a district office administrator. I currently teach at the university level and love this new challenge. I enjoy 4-Wheeling, hiking, trying new restaurants, volunteering at community and church events, and spending time with our grandson. Being a member of SULS has provided me opportunities to serve others and meet new people.

I’m Elizabeth Groves and I moved to the St. George area in 2019. My husband and I retired after 20+ years living in the North Bay Area of CA. I have been happily married to Glen for 25 years and have a stepdaughter and two grandchildren. I enjoy reading, biking, baking, crocheting and both domestic and international traveling! I love living in Southern Utah and take pride in helping our community.

Amy spent 38 years working for the City of Denver. She started as director for Keep Denver Beautiful and was later catapulted into media communications for Denver Public Works when four feet of snow paralyzed traffic and snow plows. After suggesting that someone use the police helicopter to survey the damage, she was drafted to make the flight in a local TV station helicopter. Amy’s in-flight interview aired and launched her new career in media communication. She spent the next 15 years doing media interviews about snow removal, road construction, potholes, and special events including Denver Grand Prix, Oklahoma City Bombing Trials, and the G8, until Denver’s new airport baggage system failure hit the national news. She was reassigned to lead communications through the airport’s successful opening in 1994, followed by Time magazine naming it “America’s Best Airport.” In 1998, she was appointed Senior Vice President for Denver International Airport and spent 20 years in communications, marketing, air service development and government relations. She was the acting airport CEO on 9/11. One of her final projects was to guide a strategic rebranding of the airport. Amy had called Denver home since 1976 where she raised sons Douglas and Jeffrey. After she and her husband Patrick retired, they moved to St. George with their pug Max in 2022, and built their forever dream home.
